2001-2003:                  Welder for ‘Dili Engineering’, an Australian company

Achievements

2003:               Participated in a workshop for street children in Dili in collaboration with ‘FCJ Posko’ and supported by ‘UNICEF’.

 

2004:               ‘CDUSU Art Auction’ exhibition in Darwin, Australia. The event was organized by the ‘Charles Darwin University
                  Students’ Union’ and the ‘Darwin-Dili Sister City Committee’.

                         In November Iliwatu participated in the ‘Arte Moris. Living Art from Timor’ exhibition in Sydney. Spent one month in
                   Sydney giving and taking various courses by invitation from COFA (College of Fine Art) New South Wales
                   University.

2005:                Stomp lessons with Dili International School.

                         Participated in a workshop on  Human Rights held by ‘UNOTIL’ and followed by the creation of panels with human
                   rights issues, prior to the exhibition ‘Etre. The Face of Human Rights’.

                         In October he participated in the Magnum Archives photo exhibition `Etre. The Face of Human Rights’, curated by
                   Lars Müller. The event took place in the Arte Moris exhibition hall, accompanied by  paintings and panels on
                   human rights from Arte Moris, film documentaries by ‘Centro Audiovisual Max Stahl, Timor’, music by the Arte
                   Moris ‘Rabenta Stomp’ band and the Arte Moris ‘HaKa’ djembe group, performances by Bibi Bulak and Galaxy,
                   rock band. The exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Swiss Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia.

                        Art workshop at St. Paulo Aileu (Junior and Senior High School).

                        Facilitation of the Children Leadership Awards for the Children’s Conference to  be held in Cambodia.

                        Youth workshop in Aileu, Timor-Leste.

2006:               From March to April Iliwatu took part in the ‘Art from Timor-Leste’ exhibition at the UN Palais des Nations, Geneva,
            Switzerland. ‘Living Art from

                        Timor Lorosa’e’ exhibition and events honoring Timor-Leste’s culture in collaboration with ‘AMZH’ (Arte Moris
            Zürich) at the ICS (Inter-Community School) in Zumikon/Zürich, Switzerland.

                        Creation of posters, banners and graffiti for the ‘Alternative Resistance Peace Campaign’ in collaboration with the
            Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ‘Hahi Ita Rain’ (Celebrate our Country), event office PM. All artworks are displayed in
            Dili and various districts throughout Timor-Leste.

                        Facilitator of the Lafaek Drawing Competition organised by CARE International.                

                        Mural painting for ‘CARE International’ with participating youth of Bairo Pite, Dili.

                        Graffiti and mural paintings at Suco Comoro and Comoro soccer field in Kampung Baru, Comoro.

Responsibilities in Arte Moris

As administration and accountant trainee:


l      Organization of exhibitions
l     Liaising  with other organizations
l      Oversees administration
l      Together with the senior students, Iliwatu handles the daily running of the school and assists in organizing various
      youth workshops

l       Responsible for the inventory, photo documentation and sale of artworks

As senior student:


l      Participation in all daily duties
l      Member of ‘HaKa’, the Arte Moris drumming group
l      Member of the Arte Moris ‘Rebenta Stomp’ band
l       Participation in the running of the ‘Arte Moris IDP Camp’ management in 2006
