Work Experience

1990-1997:      Gardener, construction and pastoral work in Atambua, Indonesia.     
1999:               Staff for ‘Red Cross’ in Dili
2001:               Temporary shop assistant and goods delivery work, Dili.
2002:               Manager of a CD rental shop, Dili

Achievements

2003:               Participated in a workshop for street children in Dili in collaboration with ‘FCJ Posko` and supported by ‘UNICEF’.

                        ‘Victim’s Dignity Restoration’ workshop with the ‘Commission for Reception, Truth and Reconciliation’ (CAVR) in
                        Dili.

 

2004:               Illustrations for ‘Oinsa atu halo Kantadeiru’. A permaculture manual created in collaboration with ‘OXFAM Great
                        Britain’ in Dili.

                        Reached 3rd place in the ‘Global Poster Competition Against HIV/AIDS’ organized by ‘Church World Service’ in Dili.

                        In November Mong participated in the ‘Arte Moris. Living Art from Timor’ exhibition in Sydney. Spent one month in
                  Sydney giving and taking various courses by invitation from COFA (College of Fine Art) New South Wales
                  University.

2005:               Participated in a workshop on  Human Rights held by ‘UNOTIL’ and followed by the creation of panels with human
                  rights issues, prior to the exhibition ‘Etre. The Face of Human Rights’.

                        In October he participated in the Magnum Archives photo exhibition `Etre. The Face of Human Rights’, curated by
                  Lars Müller. The event took place in the Arte Moris exhibition hall, accompanied by  paintings and panels on
                  human rights from Arte Moris, film documentaries by ‘Centro Audiovisual Max Stahl, Timor’, music by the Arte Moris
                  ‘Rabenta Stomp’ band and the Arte Moris ‘HaKa’ djembe group, performances by Bibi Bulak and Galaxy, rock
                  band. The exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Swiss Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia.

                        Youth workshops in various districts throughout Timor-Leste.

                        Educational stay in Australia for three months

2006:               Posters on the subject of domestic violence for JSMP, Dili.

                        Creation of posters, banners and graffiti for the ‘Alternative Resistance Peace Campaign’ in collaboration with the
                  Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ‘Hahi Ita Rain’ (Celebrate our Country), event office PM. All artworks are
                  displayed in Dili and various districts throughout Timor-Leste. 

                        Illustrations for the Anger and Sadness Management scheme in collaboration with PRADET, Dili.            

                        Drawing and painting workshop with SMPK Junior High School, Same.

                        Creation of banners and backdrops for Bibi Bulak, Dili.

                        Illustrations for a booklet “UNPOL- Behavior and Conduct” for HR and Transitional Justice Unit UNMIT

2007:               Photographer for Primary School Books

                       Invitation by the RTSI (Swiss Italian Radio and Television) to  promote Arte Moris and to present his footage about 
                 the current situation in East Timor. He is accompanied by Luca Gansser


Responsibilities in Arte Moris
 

l      Participation in all daily duties
l     Teacher for junior students in Dili and various other districts throughout Timor-Leste
l      Member of ‘HaKa’, the Arte Moris drumming group
l      Member of the Arte Moris ‘Rebenta Stomp’ band
l       Participation in the management of the ‘Arte Moris IDP Camp’
l       Responsible for the inventory, photo and exhibition set-up
l      Cameraman for the school.
